as we celebrate our first house in East Aurora.
The Walk for Independence will be held
Saturday, July 12, 2008
at the Knox Farm State Park in the historic village of East Aurora.
We changed the name and location this year to emphasize the accomplishments we have achieved this past year! Three individuals with physical disabilities are currently living on their own, in an accessible home in East Aurora. The Independence Foundation purchased a house in June 2007. Ben and his roommates are very excited to have this opportunity, and to manage their own lives!
Because of generous community support and enthusiasm the past three years – we were able to purchase a home and make all the necessary modifications. Ben and his friends have been living there since August of 2007! Thank you to all who have participated and especially to all of our volunteers who helped to ready the house.
Bring family and friends and plan to join us this year at the Walk for Independence – where Independence is no longer a dream – but a reality!
The Walk for Independence will include a beautiful 3 mile trail on the grounds of the majestic Knox Farm State Park. Complimentary lunch is also included. Come and explore The Knox Farm State Park and historic East Aurora, as we celebrate Independence!
