Recreation Expo 2006
The 1st ever Rec Expo was a huge success. Several hundred people came to learn about opportunities for developmentally disabled and physically handicapped individuals. There was dancing, music, raffles, and much, much more.
I have info on many recreation opportunities if you are interested. Did you know that you can get an Access Pass and get into state parks for free? There is also a boating & fishing experience for disabled, sled hockey, wheelchair football, and many others. I have flyers to share.
We distributed many Foundation brochures, spread the word on power wheelchair soccer, shared information, recruited volunteers, and even signed up another person on our Independence House wait list.
We look forward to next year's Rec Expo!
