 Accessible Light Switch Bar

Buy a 3/8 by 36 inch wooden dowel at the local hardware store (about 50 cents each).

Drill a 3/32 inch hole through one end of the dowel 1/4 inch from the the top.

Thread a key ring (the thinner the better - ask at an auto repair shop - they use these daily to tag keys.) through the hole in the dowel.

Cut power to light switch - carefully drill a 3/32 inch hole horizontally through the plastic light switch lever.

Thread key ring with dowel into light switch lever hole and now you have mounted an extension to the switch that a person in a wheelchair can easily reach and use.

Stain, varnish or paint the poles to match the wall or the room.
