 The Parent Network

The Parent Network is a parent-led organization that provides services for the families of individuals with disabilities throughout the Western New York area. They help parent and caregivers achieve the skills necessary to best advocate for children and to become full partners in his/her educational process. Parents play a critical role in helping their child(ren) with special needs achieve success in their lives.

The Parent Network hosts workshops and training on a regular basis.

 What does the Parent Network do?

The Parent Network of Western New York provides current and relevant information as well as comprehensive training to parents/caregivers who have children with special needs. To achieve that goal, they offer a wide range of services including:

  • Outreach to parents/caregivers through a comprehensive information and referral service, with a particular emphasis on underserved families.
  • Seminars and training sessions for parents on various special education topics.
  • Library and resource materials housed in the Dena B. Goldstein Family Resource Initiative, located in the center at Parent Network. A portion of these resources are available in other languages.
  • Special Insights Newsletter 6 times yearly and important local, state, and federal website information.
